About this Event

Led by Evince Training who are experienced former police practitioners, this 5 hour course will be tailored to suit a DANCE teacher / dance school setting, and is ideal for dance studio owners, freelance dance teachers and dance assistants.

Tuesday 5th March 2019, 9:30am-2:30pm

Topics will include online / social media and bullying as well as spotting signs of other safeguarding issues with your students and what to do. The course will involve open discussion and use examples of situations you may have had.

It's also suitable for volunteers or other staff members who may take an active role in your dance school (receptionist, chaperones for shows and events, etc).

The Safeguarding Course Director is Diane Newton; Diane is a former Detective who was instrumental in setting up the Child Protection Unit here in Dorset, she is a retired Police Sergeant with an extensive knowledge of Child Protection in theory and in practice on the front line.

We believe that attending a face to face training session is essential to allow you to discuss and truly understand this complex and effective subject.

The course is designed around legislation and guidance from various departments of Her Majesty’s Government including the Working Together to Safeguard Children: a guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, what to do if you are worried about a child being abused.

This course is delivered by Evince Training, and hosted by Groove Child Dance Syllabus.
