Rapunzel

Rapunzel has spent eighteen years locked in a tower, raised by a woman she believes is her mother. She is creative, restless, and full of energy with nowhere to put it. When she finally leaves the tower, she swings between wild excitement and crippling guilt. She is brave, resourceful, and discovers her own strength one adventure at a time.

Personality for Dance

Rapunzel moves with pent-up energy. In the tower, she bounces off the walls literally, painting, sweeping, cooking, doing everything at triple speed because she has run out of things to do. When she first touches grass, she reacts with her whole body. She is sensory, feeling everything for the first time. Her movement ranges from tiny, careful exploration to explosive joy. She uses her hair as a rope, a whip, a lasso, a safety line.

The Outfit

Top

A purple fitted bodice with pink lacing at the front. Cap sleeves or a slightly off-shoulder neckline. The purple should be a warm, medium tone.

Bottom

A lavender and pink layered skirt, knee-length for dancing. Light, floaty fabrics that move well. The skirt should suggest her tower dress without restricting movement.

Accessories
