Unbeknown to the people of Swansea, the ‘Big Apple’, situated above Bracelet Bay, is actually a time travel machine. This was left by aliens, following their research mission to earth in the 1930’s.

In the present day, Tanya, a ‘Swansea Ballet School’ student, was leaving a dance competition, when she witnesses an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO).

At the same time, she observes a bright falling object which lands very close to her – A Crystal!

Intrigued, she puts this object in her pocket. What she doesn’t know, is this is a device that activates the ‘Big Apple Time Machine’.

It is the day of Swansea air show, and SBS students have been dismissed from their usual Saturday classes, due to distracting aircraft noise. This is the first time they have been able to watch the Swansea Bay Air Show!

The ever-watchful aliens, learn that Tanya has found a piece of Crystal from their planet. Through this Crystal, they observe and measure whether these humans are appreciative of their home, planet and city.

Do they care & respect each other?

Using the powers of the Crystal, the aliens compel Tanya to walk with her friends, along the promenade towards the Mumbles Big Apple. They are of course unaware that they are being led by a power greater than their own.

Focusing on Swansea’s summertime activities, the adventure begins; the local community enjoying the spectacular air show, the sunshine, beaches, floral parks and further activities along the coastline.

HOWEVER! Freak weather conditions, an unprecedented sighting of Sharks within the bay, and an unscheduled trip in a Time Machine, make this a day out to remember.

Poignantly, they witness a historic lifeboat disaster, and so learn of the courageous work of the local RNLI volunteers.

Will the students remain friends throughout?

Will they surpass the alien’s expectations?

What will they learn?
