Tickets are now on sale for GIFFORD DANCE ACADEMY'S 2024 SUMMER CAMP which will be running from 23rd July - 25th July at Pix Brook Academy for dancers age 6+.
We are super excited to announce that we have another jam packed schedule planned for this year. We will be welcoming some amazing guest teachers as well as running a whole variety of dance classes and workshops to suit everyone.
Summer camp will run from Tuesday 23rd July to Thursday 25th July, with each day lasting from 9:30am - 2:30pm. All three days will be held at Pix Brook Academy and dancers will be divided into age/ability groups. We kindly ask that dancers bring plenty of water as well as their own packed lunch which must not include any foods that contain nuts. Camp is open to both members and non members of GDA, we look forward to welcoming you.
A bit about our special guests
Rosina Andrews - Rosina is founder of the Rosina Andrews Method (a dance training
program used in 1000's of studios worldwide). She is an expect in dance technique specialising in leaps and turns and is the author of three best selling dance books. She has worked at and choregraphed for some of the to UK's top dance colleges including Wilkes Academy, Stella Man College and Sharpe Academy. Some of her other credits include choregraphing for House of Jazz, Pineapple dance studios, Base studios, CYD convention, Move it convention and Dance Moms UK to name a few.
Gaz Davis - Gaz began his career dancing for many worldwide artists such as Take That, Rihanna, Girls Aloud, Robbie Williams and Little Mix. Performing on shows such as The Brits, X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing and Britain's Got Talent. He has also featured in Mamma Mia the movie, West End shows such as Starlight Express, Ray Charles and Never Forget as well as travelling the world with brands such as Schwarzkopf, Adidas, D&G, Toni & Guy and many more. Gaz then moved into choreography later in his career and has gone on choregraph for Nicole Scherzinger, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, BBC - All Together Now, P&O Cruises, Clothes Show Live, Simon Webbe (Blue), Moroccan Oil Hair Show, Lee Jeans, Debenhams, Boux Avenue, Matalan...to name a few. He also has co-choreographed huge live events such as The Special Olympics - Dubai 2019, World Skills - Abu Dhabi, NRJ Fashion Shows - Zurich and was Dance Captain on the 2012 London Olympics.
Gaz will be leading different workshops for our various age/ability groups, one based on Little Mix choreography and another based on Audition preparation.
Drumba - Drumba fitness is an inventive and fun fitness programme which combines energetic activities such as cardio training, balance exercises, coordination skills, resistance and strength techniques with drum sticks and custom drumming pads. Designed to improve your sense of rhythm, groove, timing and coordination (ideal for dancers) all exercises are set to music. This workshop will be great for helping to improve your stamina and strength all whilst having fun.
