Rise of The Elements

Rise of the Elements is a cinematic, narrative driven theatrical production created by the award winning street dance crew IMD Legion. As the East London crew’s standalone headline theatre show, the performance blends high-octane hip-hop choreography with a fantasy storyline centered on an epic battle between good and evil. Dancers dynamically embody primal forces like Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and the Void, utilizing extreme acrobatics and machine-tight synchronicity to drive the narrative forward. A major highlight of the production takes place in complete darkness, where the cast uses precise physical movement and specialized thumb and hand lights to create glowing, shape-shifting visual illusions. This culminates in an intense, light-based battle sequence that audiences and reviewers have described as a high-energy, hip-hop infused lightsaber duel. Under the creative direction of IMD founder Omar Ansah-Awuah, the show features a custom, high-energy soundtrack that elevates the explosive choreography and marks a major evolutionary step for the world-renowned dance crew.
