Kegworth Players are proud to present an evenings entertainment of two one act plays, Be my Baby by Amanda Whittington and SUPERSNOUT by Jane Cafarella.
"Be My Baby" by Amanda Whittington:
Set in the 1960s, "Be My Baby" follows the story of Mary Adams, a young woman who finds herself pregnant and unmarried. Sent to a mother-and-baby home by her strict mother, Mary meets a diverse group of women in similar circumstances. Together, they navigate the challenges of pregnancy, motherhood, and societal expectations while forming deep bonds of friendship. Through humor, heartache, and resilience, the play explores themes of friendship, love, and the struggles faced by unmarried mothers in a conservative society.
"SUPERSNOUT" by Jane Cafarella.
The play revolves around Andre, a chihuahua, who, believing dogs understand complex human conversations, feels compelled to communicate with Julie when he witnesses Tom's infidelity with his secretary, Gloria. Through conversations overheard during walks and at a company barbecue, Andre learns about Tom's embezzlement and his boss's escape with company funds, leading Julie to confront Tom and ultimately decide to divorce him. Andre's intervention, fuelled by his loyalty to Julie and his disdain for Tom's behaviour, sets off a chain of events that ultimately leads to a resolution benefiting Julie and Andre.
The seating is café style with a small bar.
If you buy 4 tickets before the 30th April you get a free bottle of wine for your table.
